Poetry & Recipes

I'm Vickie Beck, APRN- PMH from Baltimore, Maryland. I've been using TF-CBT for 25 years and was a national TF-CBT trainer in the United States for almost 20 years. I was a board certified clinical nurse specialist with a specialty in working with children and families for over 45 years. I've trained hundreds of clinicians in effectively treating PTSD and trauma related symptoms in children.

I've helped develop two protocols as a nurse practitioner to use with my clients and their families (See TIPS and I-CAN).

I have always had a passion for songs and poetry.  I think I got the love of that from my father, who in his 80’s compiled an entire book of old-time couplets on a variety of topics.  Whenever the fancy would strike me I would grab a pen and paper.  I particularly liked to write to communicate lessons to my children.

For a project last year, I encouraged our family to write down a few of their favorite recipes for the rest of us.  I got a few takers.  Here they are -  more are always welcome.
