Grammy's Homemade Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground meat (or veggie meat)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • 1 can small red kidney beans
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 Cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Melt butter in large 2 quart pan
  • Add chopped onion and chopped celery to sauté
  • Add ground beef (veggie meat) and cook.
  • Add 1 large 1/2 gallon can of tomato juice
  • Add spices and beans
  • Simmer (add more tomato juice as needed for desired consistency)
  • Serve with sour cream, cheese, and small saltine crackers
