Mom's Cinnamon Rolls

Cheryl Beck

Ingredients

  • 5 ½ - 6 ½ cups bread flour
  • ½ cup sugar (or Splenda)
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 packages yeast

  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • 3 Eggs

Instructions

  • Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Heat water and milk with butter. Mix all together with eggs.
  • Knead on floured surface until smooth—let rest 20 minutes under bowl
  • Divide dough. Roll out flat with a rolling pin, cover with melted butter, then sugar and cinnamon (you may also add pecans, almonds, raisins etc.)
  • Roll up and slice roll into individual rolls. Put in buttered pan and let rise until double size (maybe hour or two)
  • Bake at 350 degrees until slightly brown. Spread with powdered sugar, glaze or frosting
  • “Eat the first one as soon as they come out of the oven” (CKB quote)
